Easy ways to share your fundraising campaign!

Candice Vleugels - Monday, March 07, 2011
We wanted to take a moment to point out a few easy ways that our fundraisers can spread the word about their fundraising campaign with GoodieDo.  Once you are an approved fundraiser you need to login to the Fundraiser Portal to create a fundraising campaign.  This campaign will then show up on our Fundraisers page where people can learn more about your campaign and then chose you to support while shopping.  Once you have a campaign up, there are a few simple and straightforward ways to tell everyone about your fundraising efforts -

1. One-click sharing for Facebook.  If you click on the Facebook "Share" button on the Fundraiser Portal it will launch a FB sharing window that lets you update your status.  If you stay logged into FB most of the time, it will automatically use your account (or the account that the computer you are using is currently logged into).  The link provided in your FB post is the unique link that people would use to shop to support your cause!  Cool!  Then all 130 friends (this is the average number of friends of a FB user) will know about your campaign!  Get your family and friends to "Like" or "Share" further and your campaign goes viral!

2. One-click sharing for Twitter.  If you click on the "Tweet" button on the Fundraiser Portal, it basically does the same thing as click on the "Share" button for Facebook, except for Twitter.  It automatically grabs your Twitter account and let's you Tweet all about your fundraising campaign (well in 140 characters or less including the shortened url) to all of your followers.  Ask some of your followers to RT (that's retweet for the non-twitters users out there) and again it goes viral!  Cool!

3. Tell a friend.  We have a "Tell a Friend" email app on the fundraiser profile.  If you go to your fundraiser profile on our Fundraisers page, you'll see a "Tell a Friend" button.  By clicking this you can enter friends' email addresses and include a personal message to tell them about your campaign.  They'll receive a GoodieDo email from you about your fundraising efforts.

These three ways are the most hassle free ways to use the GoodieDo site to tell your community all about your campaign.  We hope you find them useful!  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them here on this blog!
