Why do kids dream BIG and adults dream small?

Belinda Philp - Thursday, November 08, 2012

There is a beautiful article in new-billionaires.com titled 'Why do kids dream big & adults dream small?'

I have two beautiful children Chloe and Jude and we are often going on safari in a helicopter or airplane through Africa to see wild animals and waterfalls and rainbows and even sometimes to help sick animals or simply to say 'hi!' to friends. This action packed safari might only take ten minutes BUT we do go often! As it is taking place in our amazing and wondrous imaginations in the safety of Chloe or Judes room.

We often jump off chairs as we jump into the pristine waterfalls, or jump out of flying aircraft to land amid savannahs of grazing zebras. Life is AMAZING, fun and adventurous!

When and why should this ever change? Keril Sawyerr and Eric. K . Lewis say it beautifully "The reason kids dreams are bigger than adults is simple; kids don't have the self limiting subconscious beliefs that adults have" Does this sound familiar? "My dream was to X, Y, Z but because"....." Any sentence that includes BUT or BECAUSE is an excuse better known as a mental obstacle.

The GoodieDo team are so HAPPY to have joined with award winning Novelist Richie Frieman the author of Terple: Always Dream BIGGER!

About a turtle who never gives up and always dreams BIGGER.

This book is for every parent who wants to keep those amazing imaginations flowing throughout life; who would love to see their kids achieve their wildest and BIGGEST dreams and to be reminded of them each night at bedtime together.

I have purchased 3 copies to date, so Chloe's and Jude's friends can also be a part of and relish in their BIGGER dreams.

You too can pick up a copy for your kids and their friends HERE Australia or HERE Hong Kong.

Here's to committing to those BIGGER dreams and seeing them flesh out into your very own reality

With Much love xxxx

Ikea supports every child's right to quality education

Candice Vleugels - Monday, November 28, 2011

"Hey Fido, what are you doing?"

"I'm reading, Leo, can't you tell?"

"No, not really.  I can't read. But I like to look at pictures."

"Well, I'll help you learn how to read. I'm reading about Ikea's great Soft Toys Campaign for the holidays. Did you know that every time one of us gets picked to go to a new child's home, 1 Euro is donated to help children get an education in developing countries?"

"You mean when I get a new home, my new kid gets a cuddly toy AND another kid gets to go to school all at the same time?  That's GRRRREAT!"

You heard it straight from Fido and Leo over at Ikea... for every soft toy that is purchased at Ikea (worldwide!) between November 1st and December 24th, 1 Euro / $10 HKD is donated to UNICEF and Save the Children, so they can provide kids in-need with a child-friendly education.

Ikea currently has a great range of soft toys available, not just little stuffed animals, but also dress up hats, puppets, baby dolls with accessories that encourage creative pretend play for your kids.

And at normal Ikea budget-friendly prices, you can't go wrong with one of these under the tree because not only are you giving a stimulating gift to your own child, but you are helping disadvantaged children around the world get the education they need to lift themselves out of poverty.

Since the holiday campaign started in 2003, Soft Toys for Education has raised an amazing 35.2 Million Euros, supporting 8 Million kids around the world to get better teachers, classrooms, books and pencils. This year they are aiming to raise 12 Million Euros.

So if you need a fun kids or baby gift this year, find your nearest Ikea and support their Soft Toys for Education campaign!

Happy cuddling,

Fascinating fundraising helps to create a SOLID movement

Belinda Philp - Monday, September 26, 2011

Are you raising money or running a non profit and asking for donations?

Is your strategy currently PAYING OFF?

Sally Hogshead author of 'Fascinate: Unlocking the 7 triggers of influence, persuasion, and captivation'  writes about

LUST,

MYSTIQUE,

ALARM,

PRESTIGE,

POWER,

VICE

TRUST

as being the 7 key elements to being MEMORABLE. She outlines with many examples how experiences in life are chosen by us because of these seven underlying triggers, which we are often unaware of.

You know that feeling when you come across something FASCINATING and you are left lingering for MORE......?

There's something you just cant put your finger ON,  you have to see it AGAIN!

It's like an itch that won't go away.

The more you itch it, the more you WANT TO ITCH IT!

In this book Sally answers the question 'Are beautiful people STILL more attractive with the lights OFF?' The answer to this is YES they smell better......

apparently: 'through scent, we can unconsciously detect gene makeup in other people.'

She goes on to explain the psychological reasoning behind shoe fetishes and provides an extremely useful self evaluation critique of how fascinating your company, brand or product is.

This book is extremely useful for any who would like their story retold. From this you will understand how large companies such as Coca Cola create a lasting impression.

If you would like to FIND OUT how to:

  • recruit supporters of your cause by the truckload because you are just SOOOO fascinating
  • get others to buy products that you love and support
  • WOW people and create a lasting impression

THEN

1) click HERE and find the new fascinating YOU or buy it for that person or company in your life you find BOOOOOORING!!!

2) Then click add to basket (They even have FREEEE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE!!!) and whammo you will finally understand why you just have to have Chinese fried noodles every Friday night for dinner.

P.S This is why I LOVE using products which have a great story behind them, retelling that story is just SOOO FASCINATING, not to mention FUN!

Save the date - Shopping for a cause in Hong Kong!

Candice Vleugels - Thursday, August 04, 2011
The American Women's Association of Hong Kong is one of the largest women's run volunteer and charity organizations in Hong Kong. Every year they organize a fabulous bazaar during the holiday season full of fantastic Hong Kong shops and vendors selling everything from chocolate to baby toys to jewelry and sleepwear.  I have been going to the bazaar for a number of years and love spending a few hours browsing and sampling.  There is a fantastic bake sale with stacks of treats donated by members and its fun to indulge!  I always manage to come home with some great buys for myself and some very unique gifts that are always loved by the recipients.  All proceeds from the bazaar are donated to local Hong Kong charities.  Last year the AWA donated a total of HK$1.3 million to various charities and organizations in the city!

We are thrilled to announce that GoodieDo will be participating in this year's bazaar in partnership with our lovely organic baby clothes partner, Organic Family.  We'll be selling a great range of our most popular gifts including hand loomed scarves, baby toys, handmade jewelry and funky t-shirts.  Its going to be a great day out, so don't miss your chance to shop for great gifts that give in more ways than one!

Details are as follows:

DATE: 8th of November

TIME: 10am - 6pm

PLACE: Hong Kong Jockey Club, Happy Valley Race Course

We'll see you there!

Little girl inspires thousands to give the gift of water

Candice Vleugels - Tuesday, August 02, 2011
Rachel was an average American girl with not so average dreams.  For her 9th birthday she wanted to forgo birthday gifts for donations to her favorite cause, charity: water. Her dream was to raise US$300 by her birthday on June 12th in order to help 15 people have access to clean water, but she came up a few dollars short. Tragically Rachel passed away in a car accident 2 weeks ago and since then she has inspired thousands to give and help her reach and surpass her dream. To date Rachel's campaign has raised US$765,328 and this will provide clean water to 38,266 people, the largest amount EVER raised in a charity: water campaign.  Rachel's selfless acts and the outpouring of donations and kindness from around the world in her memory is a testament to the generosity of humankind. Let it serve as an inspiration to us all to open our hearts and help others however we can. To donate to Rachel's campaign, visit her campaign page.
